Thinking of all of Carolyns family. I was a piano student in t6he mid 50s she came to Carbon weekly. Ocassionally I would see her in Drumheller. Then much to my surprise several years ago when I took my twin granddaughters on the teddy bear train from Stettler she was also there with grand kids. Some extra practises took place at her moms place. I remember Mrs.Blanche always wearing a hat and attending tea at Knox Fond memories of long ago.

In 1987, I moved to Glamorgan School. Carolyn and I were grade 4 teaching partners for about six years.
I was so lucky to be partnered with such a wonderful colleague. I particularly remember planning science with Carolyn and she always had these creative ideas for presenting the lessons. Some of her ideas were were just wild. After class, Carolyn would always have stories to tell and we would just laugh together about life, school and our "goof" ups.
What a pleasure to have been associated with such a delightful person. I have and will always have wonderful memories of Carolyn.
I am so sorry for your families' loss.

To Carolyn's Family: Please accept my sincere condolences in the death of your Mom. We taught at Glamorgan School together during the 1990's and shared a love of children, their talents, curiosities and energy. We worked together on several concerts that involved music; she gave of her talent freely. The work and laughter was palpable as we combined to create memories for students and families. Your Mom engaged wholly with staff as well; she called a "spade a spade", loved a good story and was the first to initiate celebrations for new babies, weddings and successes.
Carolyn loved her family; we heard all about each of you and grew to know your adventures and lives. Her pride in each of you was evident whenever she had a opportunity to share time and a cup of coffee.
Your Mom was generous; our living room is warmer for having a beautiful Chinese blue teacup that must have belonged to one of your grandmothers in Drumheller. Carolyn gave it to me a few years ago when she came for tea; it matched another one that I had received from a friend of my Mother's. I do love it; however, if you should like it for one of your children, I would be pleased to get it to you.
The last time I saw your Mom was on a news segment about seniors and their fitness. She was taking a class in her community and was interviewed by one of the local media outlets. As usual, she was forthright, positive and well spoken. I smiled when I saw her as she was on of those people who we meet in life who always looked to the bright side, after a good discussion of all sides.
I will remember Carolyn fondly as a person who made an impact on my life as a young teacher.
Yours,
Jane Hambly

Carolyn could always bring a smile to my face. Her stories filled the room with laughter and light. She was well read and extremely passionate about her family. She was a true feminist in a time where it wasn't expected. She was a spunky and fun person to share time with. I am so sorry to your entire family for your loss, I will always have very fond memories of the wonderful person she was. I am at a loss for adequate words to express my sadness for you. You are all a reflection of your mom in the way your live your lives. Karen and Carson Blomquist
