Obituary of Elizabeth Jane PETERMAN
It is with profound sadness that the family of Elizabeth “Liz” Jane Peterman (nee Stobo) announces her passing on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at the age of 64 years after a courageous second battle with cancer.
Liz encountered many obstacles during her life, but she never let those define her. She triumphed over adversity to live a life filled with love and kindness towards others. Liz gave, and received, unconditional love. Liz cherished the love of her family, which she repaid in kind.
Liz loved to travel, whether visiting England to connect with extended family, relaxing poolside at a Caribbean or Hawaiian resort, or camping with friends in the mountains of Western Canada. Wherever Liz went, she left behind a trail of happy memories with those she met.
Liz will be remembered for her understanding – and non-judgement – of human weakness, and her ability to shine light on a path forward. The world was better for Liz’s presence; and her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts and souls of those privileged to know her.
Liz was the beloved sister of Robin (Bea), Gerry (Mandy), and Charlotte (Leo); the adoring aunt to Leanna (Peter), Tammy (Charles), Joseph, Kevin (Amy), Jennifer, Thomas, Sean, Jeremy (Serena), Matthew, Jack and Ava; and the loving great-aunt to Candice, Justin, Abbey, Makenzie, and Aurelia.
Liz was predeceased by her father Lester (Margaret); mother Lura; sister Ina; brother Timothy; nephew Ryan; and her much-loved Aunt Ina.
At Liz’s request, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
