Obituary of Dan Edward JOHNSEN

Mr. Dan Edward Johnsen, of Calgary, AB, passed away at age 83 on Friday, April 20, 2018.

He was born on February 15, 1935 in Stoney Plain and grew up in Calgary. Dan was the loving husband of Patricia (Paddy) Johnsen and together they had three children and seven grandchildren. His oldest son Trent (Lorie) Johnsen and their children Quinn and Katherine; his only daughter Tammie (Walter) Auld and their children Danny and Angela; and his youngest son Todd (Elizabeth) Johnsen and their children Matthew, Andrew and Kate.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Johnsen and his sister, Terry Issigonis. Dan had great passion for his family, his friends and for fishing. His service to the community was primarily through the Rotary Club of North Calgary where he was recognized with a Paul Harris medal. He served on the Board of the Calgary Stampeders organization and was proud to be the first president of the Friends of the Stampeders. He was very successful throughout his career with the Jim Pattison Group and later founded and managed his own property management company. Through a life dedicated to his family and to the community Dan made this world a better place for all who were privileged enough to share it with him. May the stars forever remind us of his soft smile and that wonderful sparkle in his eye.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Brentwood Care Centre for the excellent care he received throughout his time with them.
