Obituary of Mary Elizabeth TAYLOR

Mary Elizabeth Taylor passed away at home in Calgary, on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the age of 93 years.

Mary was born in Windsor, Ontario in 1924 to Alexander and Ethel Shaw.

She stayed in the home she loved more than 40 years; 25 years after the passing of her dear husband and closest friend John McGuire Taylor.  They met soon after the war and were married in 1947.  They travelled extensively but were happiest during their 10 winters in Tucson, always returning to her home in Calgary.  In later years she sadly missed her tennis and golf.  She loved to do all kinds of needlework and knitting and especially reading before her sight failed.

She is survived by her sons Michael (Jackie) of Parksville, B.C., Mark (Christina) of Annapolis Royal, N.S., Geoffry (Jo) of Winnipeg, MB; daughter Karen (David) Buker of Calgary; twin sister Elinor in N.C. ; brothers, William in Windsor, ON and Gordon in London, ON; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

There will be no service as per Mary’s request.
