Obituary of Irene Ruth BAMLETT

Irene, beloved wife of Robert Menzies Bamlett of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the age of 78 years.

Irene was the youngest of seven children (two boys and five girls). In her early years she worked in a bakery and as a telephone operator, a house cleaner, a babysitter, a waitress, and an Avon lady. But her most important role was being a wife, mom, and later, a gramma.

She loved beautiful scenery pictures, singing, walking, dogs, and if doing a job… making sure it was done properly. Her home was always clean and being a gramma was her greatest joy.

Irene’s last two and a half years of life were difficult, as she survived two strokes. She looked forward to going to heaven to be with her Lord whom she trusted for eternal life. These last few years were spent at Carewest Garrison Green where she became friends with many residents, attendants, and nurses.

Irene is survived by her husband Robert; daughter Heather (Derry); grandchildren Caralee (Daniel), Joel, Eric, and Tanya; and sisters Edna Landers, Joyce Jackson, and Gladys Wilson.

She was predeceased by her son Wayne, sister Edith, and brothers Lorne and Allan.

There will be no funeral service as per Irene’s request.
