Obituary of Irene Rachel STEWART
Irene Stewart beloved wife of William "Bill" Stewart of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the age of 96 years.
Irene had a passion for cooking and baking and to the delight of her family and friends was often found in the kitchen creating wonderful treats. Prior to her marriage she worked for RBC and PFRA where she met her future husband. In her retirement she enjoyed golf, gardening, mah-jong and crib at the Cochrane Legion. She was a pillar to her family and is remembered for her calm kindness and her dedication to her family.
Irene is survived by her loving husband of 68 years Bill; her two children and their spouses, Myrna and John De Fazio and Jack and Leanne Stewart. She will also be remembered by her four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
If friends so desire a memorial tribute may be made to a charity of ones choice.
