Robert McQUITTY

Obituary of Robert Wayne McQUITTY

Robert Wayne (Bob) McQuitty died peacefully on November 10, 2018 at the Foothills Country Hospice in Okotoks, Alberta with his family by his side.

Bob was born on May 8, 1957 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He lived in Grandora, and attended elementary school in Vanscoy, and high school in Delisle.

Bob was a loving and generous man who was passionate about sports. He particularly liked fastball, which he played and coached with the same drive and focus he had for gathering and keeping good friends and raising his family. Bob was inducted into the North American Fast Pitch Association Hall of Fame in September 2018.

After finishing school, Bob had a varied career in seismic exploration, framing, steam engineering, equipment sales, and over the last seventeen years as a home builder in Calgary, as owner of Shelby Homes Ltd.

Everyone who knew Bob will remember his humour, loyalty to friends, unwavering commitment to family, and fairness in his dealings.

Bob was a man that people enjoyed being around to hear his stories, jokes and to share his joy of life. He will be deeply and dearly missed by all.

Bob is survived by his loving and caring wife Patti; lovely daughters, Erin and Shelby; brothers, Bill (Elaine), Jim (Elaine), Gerald (Fonda), Beverly (Robin), George (Carmen); sisters, Judy (Stan), and Loretta, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, George and Grace McQuitty; brother Doug and sister Dianne of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
