Obituary of Louis Edward TOROK
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louis Torok on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the age of 88 years.
Lou is survived by his son Chris (Roxanne) Torok; daughters, Ilona Torok-Witham and Colleen Torok as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents Esther and Louis, brother William “Bill”, and beloved wife June.
Lou was born and raised in Calgary where he was a long time employee of the City of Calgary Waterworks Department. Lou also had a lengthy and successful music career; writing and playing with music icons Wilf Carter, Merle Haggard, the Everly Brothers, Don Messer’s Jubilee and Don Williams among many others. Lou’s music, humor, loving and generous heart and his beautiful smile will be truly and forever missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street NW, (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Internment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend a sincere and heartfelt thanks to the great staff of Cedars Villa Extendicare where Lou was a resident for the past six years.
