Obituary of Maureen Kathleen Anne DOUGLAS
Maureen Douglas, of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the age of 79 years.
Maureen Douglas was born in Nairobi, Kenya on January 22, 1940 where she was raised with her older siblings, Phyllis, Patricia, Joan and Michael. Maureen lived a full life playing the accordion in a band and racing motor bikes and go karts even if woman were not aloud. She had a passion for animals and gave a loving home to Jim the monkey, a chameleon, many dogs and Freddy the cat just to name a few. She traveled around the world and settled in Canada close to her sister Patricia and brother-in-law Ken. Maureen loved to draw, spend time with her family and dote on her beloved dogs. She had a big heart and a way of supporting you, while giving you a good dose of reality. She leaves behind Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends and her beloved dog JJ. She will be deeply missed.

Maureen was surrounded by love and friendship during her last journey and she voiced often how blessed she felt by everyone near and far.
Funeral Services will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street NW, (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
