Obituary of Witold STASZEWSKI

STASZEWSKI – Witold November 29, 1926 – August 22, 2012 Witold Staszewski, beloved husband of the late Wladyslawa Maria, passed away on August 22, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Witold was born in Poland and came to live in Montreal in 1949. In 1951 he married Wladyslawa ‘Lala’, and they began their family with the birth of their first son in 1952 and second son in 1956. He worked for many years before retiring to Calgary in 1994 to be closer to their family. Witold was also very active with the Polish Canadian Association of Calgary, and helped out with the Polish Boy Scouts. Together he and Lala enjoyed travelling, gardening watching movies and especially to be in nature, often going for walks in Banff and Lake Louise. Most of all, family was very special to him, and he was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. Witold is survived by loving sons Richard and Andrew Staszewski; granddaughter, Jennifer Staszewski; grandson, Matthew Staszewski; sister Halina, and extended family. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 – 16th Avenue N.W. (across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary) on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
