Obituary of Paddy CHESTERMAN

Two years after being diagnosed with brain cancer, Paddy passed away peacefully at the Carewest Sarcee Hospice, surrounded by his family. Paddy had an enthusiasm for life that was evident in his enjoyment of geology, travel, music, and the outdoors. During his 35 years as a petroleum exploration geologist, Paddy had the opportunity to work in a number of countries, including Indonesia, Argentina, Georgia, and Bahrain. His passion for travel carried over into his personal life and he took numerous trips with his family. He loved experiencing different cultures. He had an enthusiasm for the outdoors, including gardening, camping, and hiking. Paddy is survived by his wife Linda; son Julian; daughter Melanie; sister Merlyn and her children Ayesha and Leon. His family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at Carewest Sarcee Hospice for their care and compassion. Also, a special thank you to friends and neighbours for all their help and support. Funeral Services will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
