Edith Adell Fletcher (Ruttle) passed away peacefully on September 15, 2012. Edith was born in Calgary on April 5, 1911. Edith was a very kind, gentle lady who looked forward to each day of her life. She met the many challenges cheerfully with humor, dignity and a beautiful smile, never wanting to be a burden to anyone. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and George Scarlett; her brother Ken Ruttle; nieces Shirley (Don) Dyar, Georgina Ruttle, Sharon (Mel) Sly, Pamela Armstrong, Patrice (Pat) O’Brien and their families. Edith treated George’s children as members of her family and developed a special relationship with Al. Edith was predeceased by her dear husband, J. Kirk Fletcher in September 1994. Her nephew Larry (Marj) Fletcher passed away in 2003. A Celebration of 101 years of Edith’s Life will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined due to allergies.
