Obituary of Lily SMITH

It is with tears in our eyes and a hole in our hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother at the age of 89 years. Mum was born and raised in the Ituna/Balcarres District of Saskatchewan, and later spent the majority of her years working and raising her family in Saskatoon. In 2002 she moved to Calgary so she could be closer to her family. Mum is survived by her loving children Shirley (Ray) Remenda and Glenn (Donna) Smith. She also leaves to celebrate her life six grandchildren Karen, Tracy, Laurie, Danny, Kevin, Terry, as well as, thirteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Lil was predeceased by her parents Fred and Maria Keisig; brothers George and Ed; sisters Min Barnes and Rye McConnell. We will especially miss the ever present twinkle in her eyes, her contagious giggle and mischievous grin. As per mum’s wishes, there will be no formal service, but please take a moment to remember her in your own way to celebrate her life and the many memories created.
