Mary Kathleen Caspell (nee Shier) enjoyed life and made life enjoyable for those around her for over a century.
Born into a pioneer family at Cayley, Alberta, Kathleen had many happy memories of growing up in Cayley. She started teaching at the age of eighteen, and continued to teach in rural schools including Cayley (1929-33) until her marriage to Lyle W. Caspell in 1938.
Kathleen and Lyle began their married life at Hartell in the midst of the Turner Valley oil field. They enjoyed an active life involving world travel, golf and their church. Kathleen was especially involved with Grace Presbyterian Church and the P.E.O. Kathleens positive attitude, generous spirit, sense of humour and faith were an inspiration to many.
Kathleen is survived by her sister-in-law Anne Shier, and by nine nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Lyle in 1994, and by her brothers Charles, Herb and Frank Shier and her sister Alice George.
