Obituary of Doris DAVIES

Doris Davies passed away suddenly November 20, 2012 at the age of 91 years at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary.
She was born August 10, 1921 in Cardiff, Alberta and was the youngest of nine children. She raised her three sons in Calgary while working at the Palace Bakery, later at the family trailer business and finally at a nursing home before her retirement. She loved sports especially hockey, enjoyed bowling and had a green thumb. Family was the cornerstone of her life - she had a ready smile, a kind word and was always there when needed.
She will be forever missed by her sons Peter (Judith) Davies and Garry (Barbara) Davies; grandchildren Laurie (Mark) Stiles, Jeffery Davies, Kara (Bryan) Duke, Bryanne (Kevin) Doyle and Christopher (Jolene) Davies; and twelve great-grandchildren. Doris was predeceased by her son David and her great-granddaughter Mercedes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.

She will be sadly missed by friends and staff of The Westview Lodge where she resided for the past three years.
