Obituary of Douglas McLeod

MCLEOD – Douglas Mantieffel February 24, 1919 – November 28, 2012 We are saddened by the passing of Doug, loving husband of 52 years to Irene and father of Allan (Denise) and Marie (Jeff). He is also survived by three grandsons, Colin, Joseph, Pierce and eight nieces and nephews. Born in Haileybury, Northern Ontario, he was predeceased by his parents and two sisters. A WWII veteran he served six years with the Canadian Army, four overseas. Doug worked lifelong in the Electrical Industry and greatly enjoyed family camping, tennis, bowling, music and travelling. The family wishes to thank the doctor and dedicated staff at Carewest Colonel Belcher for their care, especially in recent months. A Memorial Service will be held at Northmount Baptist Church, 451 Northmount Dr. NW on Wednesday Dec. 5 2012 at 1:30pm.
