Obituary of Onkar SAGGU

Onkar Singh SAGGU, 73, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on March 10, 2013. Onkar was born in Murid Wala, India (now Pakistan) on May 13, 1939. He graduated from Sir J. J. College of Architecture in Bombay and worked as an architect in India, Africa, and Canada, a career spanning nearly fifty years. He was an active member of the Alberta Association of Architects. He was married to Satwant Kaur Mundae in 1970. Onkar is survived by his wife Satwant, son Prabhdeep (Narinder), daughter Sanjeet Shergill (Navroop), and grandchildren, Anjalee and Rajan Saggu, and Kavan Shergill. He is also survived by his sisters Pritam Kaur Munday (Gurdyal Singh) and Rajinder Kaur Marwaha (Balbir Singh) and brothers Gurbachan Singh (Devinder Kaur) and Harbhajan Singh (Surjit Kaur). Onkar will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by sisters Mohinder Kaur (Mohan Singh) and Surinder Kaur Hanjan (Sant Singh). The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Calgary Crematorium & Funeral Services (3219 – 4 St NW, Calgary Alberta, T2M 3A6).
