Obituary of Gerhard "Gerry" BOETTCHER

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our father Gerry Boettcher on October 11, 2013 at the age of 92. Dad was born on November 12, 1920 in Bruderheim Alberta, the 4th child of Emil and Martha (Hauer). On December 26, 1951 he married Cecilia (Cis) Hague. He is survived by his children John, Douglas (Fatima Soultanova), Margaret Rogers (Dave), Bruce, Kathryn and Barbara Scott (John); grandchildren Jennifer, James, Arslan, Cecilia, Danny, Ashley, Curtis, Kelly, Jessie, Kristen, Megan, Erinn, Carleen and John; great-grandchildren Isabella, Sophia, Kieran and Carolynn. He is also survived by his brothers Leonard of Vancouver, BC, and Erwin of Lititz, Pennsylvania, his sisters, Sophie Robinson of Edmonton, Alberta, and Helen Gahr of Vancouver, BC. Dad was predeceased by mom, Cecilia (Cis) Boettcher in 1992, his sister Hilda and brother Samuel. Dad was a passionate and dedicated Flames and Stampeders fan. He loved to watch the games with his three sons, often pounding the table in frustration or elation. Family was very important to Dad and his deep sense of family has been instilled in his children and grandchildren. Our Boettcher family gatherings, throughout each year, are anticipated by all. It's our time to connect with each other and share our lives. Dad connected with everyone, whether they were 1 or 60.
