Iris passed away peacefully at the Mayfair Care Centre at the age of 102 years. She was born in Wolverhampton, England and immigrated in 1927 with her family to Canada. Upon arrival in Montreal on The Magnatic, they travelled west to farm in Southern Alberta. Iris met Victor in Drumheller where they married in 1934 and began their family before moving to Calgary in 1950.
Iris is survived by two sons and one daughter, Frank (Joan), Rita (Gerry) Hartley (Kamloops) and Gord (Barb); five grandchildren, Linda (Dave) Tickner, Scott (Janice) Banack, Ken Hartley (Kamloops), Dean (Michele) Hartley, (Saskatoon) and Marlene Lynn (Whitecourt); five great-grandchildren, Brad, Ryan and Dylan Tickner (Calgary) and Braden and Caitlyn Hartley (Saskatoon).
Following the wishes of the deceased there will be no funeral service. Flowers are gratefully declined. The family would like to thank the staff at the Mayfair Care Centre for their excellent care and compassion. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
