Joy Pritchard of Calgary, passed away on April 10, 2013 at the age of 93 years.
Joy was born November 4, 1919 in Gananoque, Ontario to Blanche and R.E. Lewis. She married Charles Arthur Pritchard in 1944. Joy loved digging in her garden, reading murder mysteries, listening to Artie Shaw and Blue Rodeo, watching Star Trek Voyager and rowing on her beloved St. Lawrence River. She was adept at knitting, macramé and crossword puzzles. In the classroom, she was an inspiring teacher. At the age of 69, she learned how to fly a plane.
Joy is survived by her loving children Pam Pritchard of Calgary, Geoff (Mychelle) of Calgary, Guy (Laurel) of Eagle Lake, Ontario and also by her many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Arthur and brother, David Lewis.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at Arbour Lake Retirement Residence, 900 Arbour Lake Road NW, Calgary,AB Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
