Obituary of James SIMMONS

SIMMONS – James Henry September 12, 1953 – April 19, 2013 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James (Jay) Simmons in Calgary, on April 19, 2013 at the age of 59 years. Jay is survived by his loving wife Selaine Black and daughters Lisa Bensmiller (Curtis), Sarah Simmons (Matthew) and his beloved sister Anne Cyr (Raymond). He will also be missed by his sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Jay left behind many lifelong friends who will miss him dearly. Jay was predeceased by his brothers David Drury and Edward Michael. Jay was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Thomas James Hampton, Brandon Bensmiller and Emily Hampton. He was born on September 12, 1953 in Montreal, Quebec to Patricia (nee Callary) and John Simmons. Jay was an amazing and peaceful man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. His favorite pastime was spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He enjoyed many summer nights around his fire pit in the backyard listening to Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones etc...He was a hard worker and would gladly be there to lend a helping hand to who ever needed it. Jay was a very good listener and would always be there to lend an ear and give advice to his children, friends and family. May God bless and keep you always Jay.
