William David Prout passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 10, 2013 at the age of 48 years. After completing secondary education in St. Mary’s, ON, Bill’s career took him throughout Canada, working extensively around Southern Ontario and eventually to Banff, AB before settling in Calgary. Bill graduated from SAIT in 2006, being presented with the Dean’s Award for outstanding achievement in the Railway Conductor Program. Invariably, Bill touched the lives of those around him. He had an active interest in literature and volunteered reading to people with disabilities. His other volunteer activities included helping with the Knights of Columbus food programs, the Calgary Food Bank, and he readily offered assistance to any one in need. He is deeply missed and is survived by his father William John Prout of St. Mary’s, ON; brother Bruce and his wife Deborah of St. Joseph’s, ON and their children Logan, Devon and Kiera; brother Paul and his wife Mila of Cochrane, AB and their children Neil and Joel; and brother Michael and his partner Leonardo of Vancouver, BC. He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Gwendolyn Louise of St. Mary’s, ON. Services will be held at Holy Name of Mary Church in St. Mary’s, ON on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com. Donations to the Food Bank in any community would be much appreciated. Bill’s family wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who mentored and supported Bill throughout his life. HERITAGE FUNERAL SERVICES “Calgary Crematorium Chapel” Telephone: (403) 299-0111
