Obituary of John Frederick James HUNT

John Frederick James (Fred), beloved husband of the Late Jean Hunt (nee Todyruk), passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the age of 88 years. Fred enlisted in the Navy, January 1944, a stoker in the R.C.N.V.R., serving on H.M.C.S.’s Hamilton, St. Therese, and Llewellyn. Honourable Discharge brought him home in 1946. Fred was active in Al Azhar Patrol Arabs, past President P.N.S.O.B.A. 1980-1981; President of Al Azhar Oriental Band 1975 and 1976. Rotary Clubs in Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and South Calgary, combined with the Shrine, occupied his leisure time. With his wife Jean, they made and enjoyed happy memories watching their children and their families grow up, all blessed with love and health - Jean and Fred then relaxing and “CRUISING TOGETHER.” Fred is survived by daughters: Darlene Hunt, and her daughters Denise (Api) from Vancouver; Shelli (Kim) from San Diego; Tamara from Calgary; Colleen Boe and her children Corene (Steve) from Victoria, Alison (Mike), Selena, Stacey, Hollie, and Cody, from Vernon, B.C.; daughter-in-law MaryJo Hunt and her children Ashley, Brydon and Jocelyn of Cochrane; and five great-grandchildren Misha, Isaiah, Elden, Aubree, and Mayla. Pre-deceased by his wife Jean (July 13, 2005) and son Douglas (December 15, 1999); father Willet Nelson Hunt (September 4, 1926) mother Fredricia Rose Hunt (December 3, 1988) brother Robert Nelson Hunt (February 24, 1979) and baby sister Julia Hunt (March 28, 1923).
