Obituary of Harold Edward McLAY

Harold Edward McLay, beloved husband of the late Vera McLay, passed away peacefully at the Brentwood Care Centre on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the age of 91 years.
Corky served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1942 to 1945, serving again from 1952-1970. He was stationed in Halifax, Nova Scotia 1942 where he and Vera lived until 1969 before returning to Alberta. Corky was one of four founding members of the Calgary Naval Veteran Association (Corvette Club) and served as president for several years.
Corky was predeceased by the love of his life Vera on October 8, 2013. Corky and Vera joined their hands in marriage on October 3, 1945 and continued to hold each others hands for 68 years.
He is survived by his loving daughter Bonnie and will also be missed by many extended family and friends in Alberta and the Maritimes.
Funeral Services will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
