Obituary of Stanley Arnold BOLTER

Stanley Bolter, beloved husband of Vivian of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Stan is an alumnus of Western Canada High School. After graduating from University of British Columbia in 1956 as a geologist he went on to a rewarding career in oil and gas exploration with Gulf Canada Resources. He married Vivian on May 12, 1956, and had some great times in Estevan and Regina before returning to Calgary in 1967. Stan was involved in various organizations: • Lifetime Member of APEGGA • Founding member of the Western Canada High School Alumni Association • Sat on the Alberta District Parole Office Citizens’ Advisory Committee • Long time member of Canmore Golf and Country Club and Past President of the Senior Mixed Golf League Stan loved being with his cherished grandchildren. He enjoyed family gatherings, golfing, travelling and working in his garden, and will be always remembered for his great laugh and love of life. He will also be lovingly remembered by his daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Luke LaFreniere, and Carol Filyk and Larry Rosia; beloved grandchildren Danielle, Kyle, Renee, Erin and Mark; brother Bob (Shirley) Bolter; brother-in-law Don Parsons; sister-in-law Terri Burke (Ralph Johnson); as well as his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Stan was predeceased by his sister Norma Parsons, brother-in-law Bill Burke and wife Alice Burke. A Private Celebration of Stan’s Life will be held at a later date. The family would like to express their gratitude to the ICU/Unit 54 at the Foothills Medical Centre for the support, compassion and care provided to Stan and his family.
