Obituary of Lenka Helena VITEK

After a brief struggle with cancer, Lenka Vitek passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Dulcina Hospice. Lenka was born on June 11, 1959 in Policka, Czechoslovakia to Libuse and Oldrich Votroubek. After graduating from college Lenka worked for some time as a kindergarten teacher before aspirations for happiness and a better life led her to emigrate. Upon arriving in Canada Lenka ran a day care while raising her own sons, though she would eventually become a Production Accountant in the oil and gas sector. She will be forever in the hearts of her husband Brad Edwards, her sons Chris and Filip Vitek, and all her extended family and friends in both Canada and the Czech Republic. Lenka was a proud and driven woman whose selflessness and charm won her an abundance of friendships in her adopted country. Although she was no stranger to hardships, Lenka never became jaded by life, nor was she one to shy away from a difficult task. Not suited towards a life of leisure, Lenka was always tackling some new project with passion and optimism. She battled her illness with this same grace, courage, and strength. As per her wishes, Lenka will be interred at Queens Park Cemetery following a graveside ceremony at 1:00 p.m. Monday July 20th. If you wish, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
