I knew Pat and Dave from their dating days back in Kingston, Ontario in the very early 1970s. Pat had a light on her, and a light in her, an exuberance and warmth and so much goodness. Dave, Pat and I did a memorable odyssey from Toronto to Calgary in 1972 during the famed Canada-Russia hockey series, guiding a driveaway car to Calgary and then I stayed on before continuing on to Vancouver. I picture her smiling back then and I know that she and Dave were amazing teachers for hundreds and hundreds of students. Over these many years, our families have kept in touch by phone and visits. Pat and her family are a wonderful example of people who are adventurous, giving and caring. Carol and I trust that Pat is at peace and we wish the best for her loved ones.

My deepest sympathy to David, their children and all of her extended family. Pat always seemed to be filled with joy and lived her life to the fullest. When I was growing up I remember her coming out to our family farm to visit and ride horses. In more recent years we would cross paths at the Canmore Folk Festival. She was usually smiling and genuinely enjoying life. Her presence will be sadly missed. My thoughts are with you in this time of grief.

Pat was the granddaughter of our next door neighbours in Calgary, Dorothy and John Molinnis. I spent many happy hours as a youngster, playing with Pat when she visited the house. Even then I saw the fun she got out of life, and even though it is many years since we talked, I know now how much she reflected the values of her parents and grandparents. Pat and I were exactly (!) two years apart, she the elder. My thoughts are with you all.
