Obituary of Eleanor Veronica LOISELLE

Eleanor Veronica Loiselle beloved wife of Marcel Loiselle of Calgary, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the age of 81 years, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Eleanor will always be remembered by so many for her hospitality. The door was always open at her and Marcel’s home to friends, family, and her children’s friends; to everyone! Her home was “home” to her granddaughter while attending university, a few nephews while working in Calgary, a few others travelling from the prairies to the mountains on ski trips and countless others who were lucky enough to enjoy her wonderful cooking, baking , conversation and, of course, the odd card game! Their house was the “hub”, the gathering place for so many along the years. She was a wonderful hostess who always had a delicious meal prepared, even after putting in a full days work. Eleanor was kind, generous, giving, had a great sense of humour and always spoke her mind; anyone who knew her well would agree with this! She was a wonderful and loyal wife, friend, sister, aunt, grandmother and mother who was always there for her children. Her three grandchildren would tell you she was pretty “hip” for an old gal! She will be greatly missed by many. Eleanor is survived by her husband of sixty years Marcel Loiselle; children Norm and Joan; grandchildren Adam, Hannah and Ethan; sisters Rose, Gertrude and Elizabeth as well as numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Eleanor was predeceased by her brother Edward and her parents Mike and Josefa. Funeral Services will be held at Ascension Catholic Church, 1100 Berkshire Blvd. N.W., Calgary on Wednesday, September 02, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
