Obituary of Carole Edith CLARE

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grand mother and friend passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the age of 95 years. As a young woman, Carole worked at Canadian Military Headquarters in London, England. Carole came to Canada as a war bride, arriving in Calgary on VE-Day, May 8, 1945. Making Calgary her life long home, Carole worked for various Government of Canada and Alberta Departments. She, then became a Sub-Division Clerk for the RCMP K-Division until her retirement in 1986. She volunteered for many years after her retirement at the Kirby Centre and at Fort Calgary, with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Veterans Association. Carole is survived by her son Michael, granddaughter Whitney (Doug) and great-grandsons Owen and Rhys. She is also survived by her niece Diana of Hamilton, Ontario. She was pre-deceased by her daughter-in-law June and grandson Sean-Brenaghn. Carole will be missed by her friends and family both in Canada and England. A private family service will be held. She will be laid to rest beside her grandson Sean in the Calgary Crematorium. Carole's family would like to thank the Staff of the Fairview and Evergreen units at the Southwood Care Centre for their excellent care.
