Obituary of Ruth Josephine ROMNEY

Ruth passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, Alberta. Ruth grew up in Pointe Claire, Quebec and married Noel Richard Romney in Valois, Quebec in 1953. Ruth and Noel left Montreal in 1973 when Noel’s company transferred him to Vancouver, and then moved to Calgary in 1975. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2003. Ruth was a devoted member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Calgary. Over the years she served on various committees, including the Board of Trustees, as well as Librarian for the Christian Science Reading Room. Ruth enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved tending her garden. In 2011, Ruth moved into the Eau Claire Retirement Residence (assisted living), where she received loving care and attention from the dedicated staff. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Noel, in 2004; her brother, Gordon; her sister, Mary; and her nephew, Chris. Ruth is survived by her nieces, Margaret, Coos Bay, OR, Patricia (Frank), Reseda, CA, Janice (Bob), Stony Plain, AB and nephew, Russell (Bev), Montreal, QC. In accordance with Ruth’s wishes, no Funeral Services will be held.
