Obituary of Ruth EVES

Ruth Eves of Calgary and formerly of Chatham-Kent, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the age of 93 years. Ruth was born March 31, 1920 in Harwich, Kent County, Ontario. Ruth married Kitchener Eves on November 26, 1941, beginning their married life on the farm near Blenheim, Ontario. Family was of utmost importance to Ruth. She was always there for her children and grandchildren and was very proud of all their accomplishments. Ruth had a great sense of community, was a life member of the Eastern Star and a faithful member of the United Church. Ruth is survived by her loving children, Bill Eves of Nanaimo, BC, Diane Johnson and Miriam (Stacy) Goodman of Calgary and daughter-in-law, Elaine Eves of Chatham-Kent, Ont. Ruth is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by her husband, Kitchener; son, John; grandson, Brett; sister, Marion and brother, Victor. A Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 – 16th Avenue N.W. (across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary) on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.hffs.com. A Memorial service will be held in Ontario at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire memorial tributes may be made directly to a charity of the donors choice.
