Obituary of Gorsu Sitharama REDDY
Please share a memory of Gorsu to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gorsu Reddy, beloved husband of Crescencia C. Reddy of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the age of 76 years.
Dr. Reddy was born on May 8, 1939 in Vishakapatnam, India. Dr. Reddy started his brilliant career by receiving a distinguished Ph.D. from the University of Saskatchewan in 1976. He went from there to work at the Alberta Research Council. It was at the Alberta Research Council where he pioneered the use of computer models for carrying out oil reservoir simulations, now a common practice in the oil industry. Upon joining Husky Oil in 1980, he shifted his career direction from research to the practical implementation of his enhanced oil recovery methods. He then started a successful petroleum consulting practice that was active in the oil sector for decades.
Dr. Reddy served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Canadian Petroleum Technology. He was also a coordinator for the Distinguished Author series for the JCPT. His work on the Editorial Board helped tremendously to disseminate advanced enhanced oil recovery technology world-wide.
Dr. Reddy is survived by his loving wife, Crescencia; son and daughter-in-law, Ram and Zohra; as well as grandchildren, Adnan, Aziza and Anjum.
