Obituary of Viola Idella SMITH

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Viola Smith at the age of 88 years. Viola was a very special lady, who had many talents, a great sense of style, and a true joy for living. Viola will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Linda (Jim), Marie (Gordon), Donna, Kathy (Tim) and Lorrie (Walter); her grandchildren Janelle, Melony, Jared (Holli), Doug, Emma and Nathan; her great-grandchildren Maguire and Sebastian; her sister Betty (Gordon); several nieces and nephews; as well as many friends. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 1991 and her son-in law Lyle in 2000. A Celebration of Life for Viola will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 100, 119 – 14th Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6, telephone: (403) 264-5549, www.heartandstroke.ca.
