Joan Richardson, beloved wife of the late Jim Richardson passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the age of 88 years.
Joan was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan on July 4, 1927. She grew up on the family farm and later moved to Calgary where her heart belonged, closer to the Mountains. Joan loved gardening and flowers, and especially loved her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her great joy and she was dearly loved by all. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
Joan is survived by son, Robert Richardson; daughters and son-in-law, Jacquelene and Doug Secord and Susan and Jeff Thompson; grandchildren, Robert and Sam Thompson, Leah (Scott) Jensen, Crystal (Colin) Gates and Spencer (Melissa)Secord; great-grandchildren, Isabel and Carter Jensen, Madison, Ethan and Connor Gates.
She was predeceased by her husband of sixty years, Jim.
A Gathering to celebrate her life will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, April18, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
