Surjit Kaur Randev of Calgary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2016.
She was born on April 13, 1912 to the late Gurdev Singh Grewal and Uttam Kaur Grewal of the village of Gujjarwal, district of Ludhiana, Punjab, India. She was predeceased by her cherished husband, Joginder Singh Randev, of the village of Barmalipur, district Ludhiana.
She was the beloved matriarch of a large family and is survived by six children and four daughter-in-laws.
Surjit's most treasured role in life was that of a grandmother to her eighteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She valued family above everything else and devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. Surjit loved and was loved.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, April 30th, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 1st, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Calgary Crematorium Chapel, followed by a prayer service at the Dashmesh Cultural Center (135 Martindale Blvd NE, Calgary).
