Obituary of Michelle Dawn MONTGOMERY

It is with heavy, saddened hearts we announce the passing of Michelle Dawn due to a brain aneurysm on April 22, 2016 at the age of 47. Michelle was born in Vermilion, Alberta, after living on the farm for 2 years, they moved to Edmonton for a short while, before making a permanent home in Calgary. Michelle completed her schooling in Calgary, graduating from John G Diefenbaker in 1986. In her younger years she did gymnastics and played soccer. Michelle was a natural born athlete, as an adult Michelle, went skydiving, which she thoroughly loved. (A bit of a dare devil we would say). Growing up Michelle spent time at her Grandparents farm north of Minburn, Alberta where she enjoyed helping out on the farm, she also spent many holidays in Saskatchewan with her Mom’s family. Michelle started her career life working at Autotemp and it is also where she met the love of her life, Joe. In the summer of 1990 Michelle started her IT career at Microage/Metafore where she worked for 15 years. She then went on to work at Mainland for 11 years until her passing. Michelle and Joe had 27 beautiful, wonderful and at times challenging years together. They raised their son Chris whom she truly loved and was very proud of. Michelle was a truly beautiful, caring, kind and giving soul, she was always around to cheer the kids on in their sports. Helping anyone and everyone whether she was asked to or not. She also cherished the time she spent with her niece Ashley and nephew Riley, later her great nieces Adalynn, Janaye, Amaleigh, and her granddaughter Avery, Madison and Jaden. Michelle will be lovingly remembered and always cherished by her husband Joe Montgomery, Son Chris Montgomery(Tasha McDonald), Granddaughter Avery, Madison and Jaden, Mother Pearl Blomfield, Sister Kim Sharp-Emerson, Niece Ashley McCord(Joel McCord) Great Nieces Adalynn, Janaye, Amaleigh, Nephew Riley Bech(Summer Rose) Brother Ryan Blomfield, Nephew Eli, Sister Megan Blomfield (Adrian Tudhope) Mother in law Betty Montgomery, Brother in law David Montgomery (Pam),Niece Janelle, Nephew Michael, Sister in law Cathy Montgomery (Jim) Nieces Suzanna and Robin. Sister in law Diane, nephew Dillon. Also, many aunts uncles, cousins and great friends to numerous to mention. Waiting in heaven for Michelle is her Father Bill Blomfield, Grandfather Bill Sharp, Grandmother Hester Hanson, Grandfather Erwin Christianson, Grandfather Harold Hanson, father in law Warren Montgomery, brother in law Rod Montgomery, Grandma Pearl Troupe, Grandfather William Troupe and many cherished aunts, uncles and cousins. Michelle’s life will be celebrated on May 7th, 2016 at 2:00PM at The Triwood Community in the Charles Wood Room, 2244 Chicoutimi Drive, NW, Calgary, Alberta In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Muscular Dystrophy or The Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of the IC Unit on the 10th floor of the Foothills Hospital, for their wonderful, caring support of Michelle while her body was being prepared for donation. Michelle, being the wonderful, giving person that she was, donated her body to help more than 60 people. As we celebrate Michelle Dawn’s life, there will be an open mike, for you to share your stories and memories of this beautiful person with her loved family.
