Obituary of Baldev Raj SHARMA

Baldev Sharma beloved husband of Bimla Rani Sharma of 55 years, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the age of 81 years. Baldev Raj Sharma, travelled to Canada in 1971 and worked as a Carmen at CP Railway in Calgary, Alberta for over 30 years, before retiring. He was a well loved community member that often assisted other members of the Punjabi Indian community, to navigate through Canadian culture and customs. Baldev enjoyed classical Indian music, and films. He was educated as a bookkeeper in India and was fluent in multiple languages, including; Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, and English. Baldev is survived by his wife, Bimla Sharma; children Alka Sharma, Amita Sharma, Sarita Balderson, Anita Nichols, Rajni Sharma, and Rajeev Sharma; grandchildren Nalanie Sharma, Michael Guatama, Nikhil Sharma, Samantha Nichols, Nicholas Balderson, Katherine Balderson, Trevor Nichols, Leneela Murphy, and Daniella Sharma. Funeral Services will be held at The Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre St NE, Calgary, AB on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Thank you to Unit 49 Peter Lougheed Hospital and Dulcina Hospice at St Marguerite Manor (Evanston).
