Obituary of Erna Martha STRAND

Erna Strand (nee Glombowski) passed away peacefully at the George Boyack Care Centre on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the age of 82 years. She will always be remembered for her kindness, courage, and great sense of humour. During her early years in Moose Jaw she made life-long friends. After moving to Calgary, she worked at Woodward’s, while raising her family as a hard-working devoted mother. Erna’s later years brought her much joy traveling, camping, fishing, cooking, baking, sewing and dancing (3 times a week!). She is survived by her loving devoted husband Hakon, her daughters Cindy Leschyshyn (Donna McGrath) and Sharon Witt (Kent Jantzie); her granddaughter Tara Leschyshyn (Robbie Pitzer); her brother Richard (Ruth) Glombowski, sister-in-law Jean Glombowski; nieces and nephews; step-children and step-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother Ewald Glombowski. Memorial Services will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow reception.
