Obituary of Robert Stanley JOHNSEN

JOHNSEN, Robert Stanley May 17, 1926 - Pouce Coupe, British Columbia July 16, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta Bob, beloved husband of Ethel Irene Johnsen passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the age of 90 years. Bob started his career in construction building houses including his own house and cabin; then progressed to being the superintendent on the Husky Tower with Poole construction; then joined Smith Engineering Ltd building bridges throughout the province. During his retirement he built furniture, renovated homes, tended to his lovely his garden. Robert continued to do wood carving and build model ships into his late 80’s. Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years Ethel; daughters Laurie, Kathie (Jerry) Thompson, and Joanne (Rob) Boston; as well as grandchildren Michael, Daniel, Heather and Tracy. Bob was predeceased by his son Wayne. No funeral at his request but a toast of aquavit in his honor. Thanks to his GP Dr. Agnes Thompson for all her devoted care in the last few years.
