Frank Kisio of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the age of 92 years. Frank lived in Wetaskiwin, Alberta for 43 years after being transferred as Postmaster in 1963. He retired in 1983 after spending 35 years in the Post Office Department. He moved to Calgary in 2006. He loved all sports, but particularly hockey, as a participant in his early days in Ribstone, Alberta to later playing old timers hockey. He loved watching his children and grandchildren play all sports. His hockey passion continued into his retirement years by playing old timers hockey in Wetaskiwin for the Relics and Larson Cabinets teams that travelled for games and tournaments in Western Canada, California and a trip to Europe. Frank was a veteran, having served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #86 in Wetaskiwin, serving many years as a Board of Director and President, in addition to participating many times for numerous fund raising events, such as steak fries and dances. Other activities Frank enjoyed throughout the years were gardening, ice fishing, golf, curling, swimming, horse shoes, bowling and any form of building construction and renovation. Frank is survived by his children; Dennis (Melissa), Gary, Janice (Kim) Davis, Kelly (Linda); ex-wife, Bernice; sister, Jeannie (Bill) Skene; grandchildren, Alex (Chris) Drul, Kevin, Kyle, Matt, Leanne, Brent (Abby), Kurtis (Kelsey), and Kristina; as well as seven great grandchildren. Frank was predeceased by two sisters, Mary and Anna. A private graveside service for family members will be held at the Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion, 5003-52 Avenue, Wetaskiwin, following the service at approximately 12:30 p.m.
