Obituary of Jeanette Alice IGGLESDEN

Please share a memory of Jeanette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jeanette Alice Igglesden of Calgary, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the age of 91 years. Jeanette was born in a small farming community near Success, Saskatchewan. She grew up in the tough Depression years yet enjoyed an idyllic childhood not yet encroached upon by modern times. She left school early to help support her family and worked in cosmetics in Tisdale and Estevan. In Regina she worked for Sask Power and came to appreciate life in the city. There she met her husband Pat and relocated to Ontario where son Mark was born. Returning west to Calgary Jeanette became a devoted mother and community volunteer. She returned to work in the 80’s at the HBC wedding department which she particularly enjoyed. Her retirement years were made richer by volunteer work for the ASPCA. Though she lived in Calgary for many years Jeanette was, at heart, a true prairie gal who loved her family above all else. Time spent catching up with her sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews, was one of her great joys. She had an amazing sense of humour, kind loving heart and will be missed very much by all who knew her. Jeanette is survived by son, Mark (Jean); sisters, Florence Wilton and Marion Nyuli. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Patrick; parents, Anton and Alice; brothers, Russell and Gilbert; sisters Viola and Rosella; nieces, Barb and Lorna and nephew, Ken. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Bethany Care Foundation, #1001 – 17th Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 2E5 Telephone: (403) 210-4600, email: bcf@bethanycare.com .
