Obituary of Jan OLSZEWSKI
Please share a memory of Jan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad and dziadek, Jan Olszewski. Jan passed away peacefully with immediate family by his side on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the age of 61 years. He left this earth suddenly after a very short battle with cancer.
Jan was born in Orzechowo-Lidzbark Warminski, Poland on May 30, 1952. He married Anna Paluch on October 21, 1972 and immigrated to Canada in 1990 with their family. After living in Edmonton for more than 20 years, Jan and Anna moved to Calgary in 2011. Jan loved his work as a quality control inspector and was highly regarded in his field. He was very passionate about learning, and enjoyed the challenges of working in many different trades. He had a distinct talent to excel in anything he put his mind to. Jan was especially proud of his family; he adored his grandchildren and loved to joke and tease them. Jan and Anna also enjoyed travelling to warmer destinations, as well as to go home to Poland to visit his family and friends.
Jan leaves behind his beloved Ania, his devoted wife of 41 years; daughters and sons-in-law, Joanna and Paul Andrusky of Leduc, AB, Aleksandra and Mariusz Potapczuk of Priddis, AB; son, Witold Olszewski of Calgary, AB, only grandson Kalyb Andrusky and youngest granddaughter Sonya Andrusky of Leduc, AB; oldest granddaughters Julia Potapczuk and Emilia Potapczuk of Priddis, AB; two brothers, three sisters, one sister-in-law and their families in Poland; one sister-in-law of Edson, AB and her family as well as many friends in Canada and Poland.
He was predeceased by parents, Czeslaw and Monika; his sister Krystyna and father and mother-in-law, Jan and Zofia Paluch.
