I am greatly saddened by the loss of one of the most giving people I've ever met on this earth. I've had the great pleasure to know Marla back to 1985 when we worked at the old General Hospital. My family has been lucky enough to meet and know her as well, beginning when she played Mrs Santa Claus at the E7 children's Christmas parties. We will treasure the Christmas socks she cross stitched for all of us.
Every time I awake to a snowy winter scene of frost on the trees and a big blue sky day, it always made me think of her as I fondly remember one year she decorated our whole unit in a Winter wonderland with photographs she and Don and taken. IF by chance you find a spare photograph or negative of one of these winter scenes she had taken, I'd love to have it as a memento.
I understand she did not want a funeral but should her family and friends wish to organize a gathering of remembrance, I would gladly help. I know there would be many from the Hospital who will have many loving memories to share and feel a need to gather. Please let me know if I can assist - or if anything is planned.
She may not have had her own children but many of us feel she was the best mother, nurse, friend someone could have.
My condolences to her family and friends. She spoke of many of you often.
