Obituary of Francoise PAKOS

Francoise passed away at the Tom Baker Centre on November 20th. In her last days she was surrounded by those who loved her. She will be dearly missed by her three children, Alexandra (Bernard), Olivier (Lonnie), Veronique (Randy), her loving companion William, as well as her two grandsons Sebastien and William. Francoise was born and raised in France. She came to Canada in 1961, where she met her now deceased husband Paul. They moved from Nova Scotia to Winnipeg, before finally settling in Calgary. It was here that they raised their three children. While raising her family, Francoise began to study part time at the University of Calgary. She first earned a Bachelor of Education and then went on to get her Master’s degree in Romance Languages. Francoise taught French to adults for many years at the University of Calgary as a sessional instructor. Upon her retirement Francoise was able to develop her natural talents as a painter. Her family would like to thank all of the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for their heartfelt kindness, and caring for Francoise. Mom you left us too quickly, now you are resting in peace. You will live on in us. A Celebration of Francoise’s Life will be held at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 – 16th Avenue N.W. (across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary) on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com. Flowers are respectfully declined.
