Obituary of Giuseppe CUCCINIELLO

It is with great sadness we announce that Giuseppe (Joe) Cucciniello passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, at the age of 75 years. Giuseppe was born in Avellino, Italy in 1941. As a young man, he served his country as a member of the 52nd Regiment in the Italian Army. He immigrated to Canada in 1967 to marry the love of his life, Rosa. Together they built a life in Calgary, where they raised their three sons. For 40 years he worked in the construction industry as a pipe layer and later a foreman. Giuseppe was an avid gardener who proudly shared his bounty with family, friends, and neighbours. He enjoyed going fishing, watching his favourite sport, soccer, and most of all spending time with his family. Giuseppe is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Rosa; his sons, Modestino (Diana), Claudio (Kelsy), Marino (Gina); and his treasured grandchildren, “The Magnificent Seven”, Marchello, Darius, Caysen, Kylen, Carter, Giuseppe and Azaria; along with numerous brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces in Calgary and Avellino, Italy. Giuseppe was predeceased by his parents, Modestino Cucciniello and Anna Fossile. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Ascension Catholic Parish, 1100 Berkshire Blvd N.W. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ascension Catholic Parish (1100 Berkshire Boulevard N.W.) on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
