Obituary of Peter CADA

Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peter was born March 15, 1941 in Blind River Ontario on the shores of Lake Huron. He grew up with six brothers and a sister, Maryanne, with whom he had a special bond. Times were mostly hard for this Ojibway family, but Peter grew up with a strong work ethics and moral standards that served him well for the rest of his life. Peter was known to be ‘Jack of all trades.’ As a young man he was accepted into the Armed Forces in 1961, trained as a tank mechanic with R.E.M.E, and posted in Germany and various Canadian locations. These were happy times for Peter, as reflected in the amazing army stories he tells. In the late 1970’s Peter joined Bow Valley Transport (later Porter Trucking), retiring in 2013. While living in Ontario, Peter married Lylia and raised their two children, Trevor and Chrystol. After their divorce, Peter chose to seek fame and fortune in Calgary. Here, he met his lifelong friend, Deb, and together they had a daughter, Paula, who became her dad’s shining star. Peter was a proud, unassuming, gentle man who was always smiling and was the first to get or tell a joke. Babies and stray animals loved him. Peter moved into Calgary’s Silvera for Seniors in 2014, where he made many more friends. He kept mostly to himself, except on “Pub Night” when he would get all dressed up for beer and story telling. Peter leaves many friends and loved ones with fond memories in their hearts, Deb and Jackie; his daughter Chrystol and her children, Danielle, Paige, Aaron, Tristan, Clarissa, Trent, Corinna and Ryland; his daughter Paula and her children Jordan and Nathan; as well as many other friends and family members, too numerous to mention. Jordan and Nathan were Peter’s two special little guys that were always clear in his thoughts, even when his mind became foggy. Peter was predeceased by Joyce, Lylia, Debbie, and his son Trevor, whose tragic death deeply effected him. With saddened hearts Pete’s story ends here with him passing away gently in the arms of his lifelong friend, Deb on Saturday, April 1, 2017. We celebrated his life together with his family on Thursday, April 6, 2017.
Click to download Funeral card
