Obituary of Gloria June REYNOLDS

Please share a memory of Gloria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gloria June Reynolds passed away peacefully in Calgary Alberta, at age 89 years. In addition to her devoted love to her husband Arthur Gerald (Jerry) Reynolds, with whom she was just about to celebrate 65 years of marriage on April 17th, Gloria was a dedicated and proud mother to their three children and spouses; Ferne O’Neil (Gregg), Kyle Reynolds (Cheryl), and Brandy Rigby (Steve) who all miss her dearly. Gloria baked, sewed, cared for, and sometimes even spoiled her grandchildren Keely, Daylan, Jerrohn and Garrett, Marc, Michelle, and Kyla, and Kai, Calta and Leith, as well as great-grandchildren Emily, Brendon, Kieran, Sophie, Sara, Evan, Kaelyn, Brayden, and Carson. An indomitable spirit at home, with friends, and in the community, Gloria has been described as a “lifesaver”, “angel”, and “pillar of strength” for many. She was a role model for overcoming adversity and doing one’s best. Gloria leaves behind her big sister Shirley Leary of Swan Lake Manitoba, having said goodbye previously to her brothers Ken Temple and Don Temple. Aunt to Clifford Temple, Margaret Mitchell, Jim Leary, Jay Leary, Kory Woeste, and Karen Latiff, Gloria believed strongly in family and held all close to her heart. At Gloria’s request, no service will be held, but an open house will be held on April 16th, 2017 at the family home for friends and relatives to share memories and time together. To friends from Fort McMurray, thank you for your kind words and please, wear bright colours, eat a hearty soup, and listen to a little Glenn Miller while you remember a strong woman whose caring spirit ensured we are all a little better for having shared time with her. God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be, So he put his arms around you And whispered, “Come with me”. You tried so hard to stay with us, But your fight was all in vain, God took you in his loving arms, And freed you from his pain. You didn’t deserve what you went through, And so he gave you rest, Heaven’s music will be beautiful ‘Cause now he has the best. Love from your family.
