Obituary of Gertrude Elizabeth MILLAR

It is with profound sadness that I announce the peaceful passing of my kind, loving mother on April 8, 2017 at the age of 97 years. She was born in Lacombe, Alberta to Fred and Margaret Moore, the third eldest of ten children. After moving to Calgary in her 20’s, she worked for Jenkins and then Safeway until her retirement in 1985. She is survived by her only child, Dianne Mitchell and her sister Barb (Stan) Otto of Lacombe, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George in 1986. At Mom’s request, there will be no service. Flowers are gratefully declined. “She’s the place you came from, your first home, and she’s the map you follow with every step you take. She’s your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you – not time, not space…not even death.”
