Obituary of Robert John Walter ALLEN

Bob, a well known Calgary musician, bandleader, and realtor passed away peacefully at the age of 96 years.

Bob was born and raised in North Battleford, Saskatchewan.  After graduating from high school, he joined the R.C.A.F. in Vancouver, where he served for four years.  Following that, he entered into the real estate business, and operated Allen Agencies.  Bob was very active in the music scene as a bandleader and sideman; and in 1971 he formed the Chinook Concert Band.  His other interests were camping, tennis, and swimming.  Bob swam regularly until he was 94 years old.

He is survived by his daughter Virginia (Tim) and his two sons Blake (Barb) and Harry (Muriel).

He is predeceased by his wife Margaret, his son Randy, sister Joan (Gregory), and brother Phil.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
