Obituary of Louise Helen BAPTIE

Please share a memory of Louise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Louise Baptie passed away peacefully on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Rockyview General Hospital surrounded by her loved ones to the end.

Louise was born in Calgary, June 27, 1936 to Ethel and Harold Burren.  Being a true 2nd generation Calgarian, Louise’s love for horses and western life style was her destiny and she met her forever cowboy in Bragg Creek, where they made their homestead.  Louise was an extraordinary gardener, seamstress and equestrian.    She lived a fulfilling country life.

Besides her husband of sixty-two years, Arthur Baptie, Louise is also survived by daughter Suzanne (Gordon); daughter-in-law Rose; several grandchildren; brother Kent Burren; sisters-in-law Judie (Bruce) Norman, Lorraine (Dean) Miller, and Jo-anne Baptie; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Scot.

No formal service will be held as per Louise’s wishes.  However, a gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.

The family of Louise would like to give special thanks to Dr. Gail and all the staff at Rockyview General Hospital, Unit 58; we will never forget your care and kindness during her lengthy stay.  We would also like to thank Gerald Mann for his spiritual guidance; and through this journey we are now privileged to call ‘a friend.’

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Liver Foundation, 801 – 3100 Steeles Avenue East, Markham, ON  L3R 8T3, telephone: 1-800-563-5483, website www.liver.ca
